Another decent ride

My second training session on the bike for this week took place on Thursday afternoon.
Again, I took the usual route and cycled to Fahr via Röthlein. In Fahr I took a break for a few minutes and continued my training afterwards, pedaled back home via Schwebheim and Sennfeld and was delighted to notice that traffic [...]

A Training session instead of my first tri race

Today was scheduled to be THE day. Originally, I planned to start & finish at my very first sprint tri race in Moritzburg. But as I told you guys before this wasn’t supposed to happen due to my recent weakening (hay fever) and a couple of colds that I caught in the past months.
Needless to [...]

A bike ride incl. a short hill workout

Here’s my take on today’s 2h 45min bike ride which lead me from SW to Fahr via Röthlein and back home via Lindach, Kolitzheim, Schwebheim and Sennfeld.
With an altitude range of 81 meters (Altitude from 196 to 277 Meter) and a total ascent of 256 meters (Total descent: 256 meters) the route was more demanding [...]

Fortunately, I didn’t experience any difficulties with my breathing which [...]

2h slow long run: Running over-distance

As I haven’t done any over-distance runs (runs farther than half-marathon distance) I figured it would be a good idea to do so three weeks prior to the race.
…Of course the Nike+ system won’t be 4k wrong at a HM road race, but it’s good to know that I am capable of running a bit farther just in case the system isn’t too accurate.
…This is my farthest run yet, and yes, I slowed down during the workout, but I was trying to save some energy for the final minutes of the training session. When taking a closer look at my average HR you’ll see that I wasn’t running at full speed (remember, this was supposed to be a slow long-run!).
…Recently, I imported my entire Millencolin collection to iTunes and created a smart playlist which keeps me entertained for 2.4 hours which should cover the entire race and hopefully also the way home …
